WEEK OF NOVEMBER 24-26, 2014

Dear Parents,
Midterm Progress Reports were sent home last Friday. Please sing and return them as soon as possible. If you would like a conference and one has not been requested, please call the school to set up an appointment at your earliest convenience.
This is a short week because of  the Thanksgiving Holiday on Thursday and Friday.

During this week the students will be learning about Thanksgiving Day celebration.

The vocabulary we will be focusing on is: Thanksgiving, thankful, pumpkin pie, turkey, feathers, corn, indian, pilgrim.

Our story of the week:
I know an old lady who swallowed a pie, a Thanksgiving pie, which was really too dry.
And with that the feast begins! After the pie the old lady swallows a whole squash, all of the salad, and the entire turkey! As Mother and Father watch in shock, the two children are delighted to see the old lady growing fatter and fatter. And, in the end, the old lady makes a surprising and humorous contribution to the holiday festivities.

We will also be reading:

For the Songfest: Our Prekinders are practicing really hard for their coming performance. Please have your child wear a safari outfit or animal print clothes for this event which will take place on December 12th at 5:30 p.m.

For our Thanksgiving Celebration on Wednesday, we are asking  to please send  L.150  for the Thanksgiving Celebration. We will buy a delicious meal and dessert to celebrate! Please send this money on Monday!
