GENERAL ASSEMBLY 

Next Saturday, September 24, at 9 a.m. we will have an informational General Assembly.  We encourage you to attend.  There will be supervision and games for the children.  This Assembly will begin punctually, and should not last longer than 90 minutes (depending, of course, on parental input).  Please attend!!!

We continue with our Town Hall - like meetings with our Head of School, Dr. John J. Ketterer to talk about specific area projects, issues and questions. Please note the date and time below for this week:

MUSICAL MINI CONCERTS
This week we begin with a series of concerts for our Early Childhood and Elementary students. Our first in a series of four educational concerts will take place this Wednesday, September 21 at 10:15 a.m. Teachers will accompany their students to the gym for an hour long presentation. Parents are more than welcome to join us! 

ACADEMIC NEWS      

PROGRESS REPORTS – were sent last Wednesday, September 14. Please read and discuss the report with your child and then send it back to school with your signature.

Scholastic News: Scholastic Book Club leaflets were given out last week. This is an optional activity offered by the school, because we know you want to motivate your child to read at home.  With your purchase, our library will accumulate points to redeem more books for the benefit of your children in our school.  The due date to purchase the books online is September 26.The books will arrive to the school in one single delivery, and we will distribute them to the students according to their orders, approximately three weeks after the purchase due date.

Presentation to Parents: We cordially invite all DS school parents to attend a presentation that will be given by the Lic. Manuel Morales on the topic “Family: School of Duties and Rights”. This presentation will take place on Wednesday, September 28, at 12:00 p.m., in the Conference Room. The school will be providing some refreshments. We hope you will be able to attend!

FUNDACION ABRIGO – Is an organization which provides lodging for families from outside Tegucigalpa who bring their families/patients to the largest state medical facility, Hospital Escuela. Discovery School in solidarity with Fundacion Abrigo is asking for a donation of 1 GALON OF DISINFECTANT per family by Friday, October 28. Thank you very much! It is always far better to give than to receive!
BAKE SALE - The Juniors will be having a Bake Sale on Friday, September 23, in order to raise funds for their upcoming Community Service Project.
