Dear families:
It was very pleasing talking to you at Parent
Teacher conference day. We believe that we are ready to begin the challenges of
the second school period.
As we told you, the students have been learning the letters
of the alphabet using the method of the Zoo Phonic Animals. This week the students will practice the
sounds a through g. We will focus on the letters a
and b
and the children will learn some words that begin with these letters.
In mathematics we
will introduce the numbers 1 and 2.
On Monday October 31st we will be having our Book Character
Day. Please be sure to send your child with a costume for this occasion. We
will all be changing into our costumes at 9:15 am for the parade around the
school so everyone can enjoy our costumes. We would love to have a few parent
volunteers for that day so please let us know if you can help out- thanks!
We need candies for this celebration, please send a bag of
candies to school. You can bring one of these types of candy: Soft chewy candy,
chocolates, lollipops or froot by the loop. Please do not send hard candy.
