WEEK OF DECEMBER 10-14

This week we will begin a unit on families. To enrich this concept we need your help. At home, please assist your child to make a poster about his/ her own family, you can include pictures, drawings or information about things that are important and special to your family.  Please send this project back to school on Wednesday, December 12. Every child will have to present their project to the class.

This week we will introduce the numbers 8 and 9. Also, we will continue to practice the Zoo-phonics letters.

To celebrate the holidays a group of parents is organizing a special party. For this party you need to send a small, inexpensive gift to share and to put inside a stocking prepared by each child. (For this reason the gift has to be small.)

Please send the present wrapped and labeled with your child´s name no later than Friday, December 14^th. 

CHRISTMAS BASKETS FOR OUR SUPPORT PERSONNEL –  Christmas is the season to open our hearts and share with those around us that need it most. It has been a tradition at Discovery School for students to come together and contribute in assembling baskets of goods for our support personnel.  We are asking for your cooperation in sending the following:

Pre Kinder and 6^th grade students      1 5-lb bag of beans

Please feel free to send any additional goodies that you want to share with our devoted staff, such as canned goods, instant soups, cookies and crackers, or anything else that does not require refrigeration.  Please send these items no later than Friday, December 14. Your participation will be deeply appreciated.
