WEEK OF JANUARY 21-24

 
 
 
Dear Parents,
This week we are going to be working with the letter Pp. The vocabulary that we are going to be focusing on is the following: pig, pot, pumpkin, pail, pie, pen, pizza, pineapple, penguin, parrot, pancakes.
 
Some of the stories that we will be reading this week are: 
 



 

Our theme this week will be about “Community Helpers” This unit is a wonderful way to broaden your children’s horizons and help them learn about the world beyond home–their community. 

 Concepts to learn:
 -Community helpers are special people who help and protect us:  Policemen, firemen, doctors, nurses, carpenters, postal carrier, grocer, baker, librarians, etc etc.
 -Community helpers often risk their lives to save the lives of others.
-Learn what the following helpers do: Policemen, firemen, doctor, nurse, carpenter, plumber, electrician, pilot, postal carrier, grocer, baker, librarian, etc
 
Vocabulary to learn:
  Policemen, baker, firemen, doctor, dentist, nurse, teacher, builder, photographer, vet, astronaut, arquitect, librarian, hair dresser, pilot.





In Math we will be sorting by size, AB patterns, review numbers 1-12.







Last Friday, the children took their Report Cards in their folders. Please sign the envelope on the Q II line and return it to us as soon as possible.  The report cards stay with you at home.



FROM THE DPTO – PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS – The DPTO has been working very hard to organize the traditional Movie Event for Discovery School families. This year, it will take place at NOVACENTRO on Sunday, February 9 at 11:00 a.m. for the presentation of THE LEGO MOVIE
