FRIDAY-Thing 1 & Thing 2

We are going to be exposing the students to a variety of his books. If you happen to have books of Dr. Seuss, we are kindly requesting you to send them with your child to school. We will be sending them back on Friday March 11th. Dr. Seuss has a collection of more than 50 books and we would really like the children to be exposed to the majority of them. We are going to be watching and reading his biography. We will also be watching and reading some of the stories that the children are not familiar with.

It’s a rainy day and Dick and Sally can’t find anything to do . . . until the Cat in the Hat unexpectedly appears and turns their dreary afternoon into a fun-filled extravaganza!

One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish is a 1960 children's book by Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel). A simple rhyming book for learner readers, it is a book with a freewheeling plot about a boy and a girl, and the many amazing creatures they have for friends and pets.

This book is about a weird Once-ler who chops down Truffula trees to make Thneeds.  At first, the city has lots of animals, trees, and green grass.  When the Once-ler chops the first tree, a Lorax pops out, whatever that is.  The Lorax tells the Once-ler to stop cutting down the trees.  The Once-ler doesn’t listen and starts chopping more and more trees and he builds a big tree-chopper and a big factory.  As he keeps chopping, the animals all leave because there is no food and the water and the air turn bad.  The Once-ler chops down all the trees and can’t make any more Thneeds, so there’s nothing left.  The Once-ler gives a Truffula tree seed to a boy and tells him to plant it.

Ten Apples Up On Top is such a fun counting book. There are three animal characters, a lion, a tiger and a dog that take us through this circus like adventure. The lion starts us off with the balancing of one fallen apple atop is head. He decides, hey, if I can do this I am sure I can do two! Then, along comes dog, sporting his two apples atop his head.

We invite to you visit the following links with your child. These sites include books, games, activities, and more about Dr. Seuss that you can do with your child at home.
