This week we are going to be working with the letter Mm. The vocabulary words that we are going to be focusing on are: moon, mitten, milk, mouse, muffin, monkey, mug, mirror, moose, mop. EXTRA WORDS: mushroom, mitten, mailbox, mask, money.
A boy gives a cookie to a mouse. The mouse asks for a glass of milk. He then requests a straw (to drink the milk), a mirror (to avoid a milk mustache), nail scissors (to trim his hair in the mirror), and a broom (to sweep up his hair trimmings). Next he wants to take a nap, have a story read to him, draw a picture, and hang the drawing on the refrigerator. Looking at the refrigerator makes him thirsty, so the mouse asks for a glass of milk. The circle is complete when he wants a cookie to go with it.

Talk about how people get to where they are going (school bus, ferry boat, car etc.) Watch videos that show different forms of transportation. Look at travel magazines. Ask if anyone has been on a plane ... a train ... a horse ... etc. Ask how students get to school everyday. How do kids in other countries travel? Leave lots of time for discussion. Review safety rules (seatbelts in cars, obeying traffic signals, walk and don't walk signs).

This month your child(ren) will have the
opportunity to purchase books through the international Scholastic Book Clubs.
This is an optional activity offered by the school, in case you want to
motivate your child to read at home and to increase their own library. With
your purchase, our library will accumulate points to redeem for more books for
the benefit of your children in our school. The due date to purchase the books
online is January 25th.
The books will arrive to school in one single delivery, and we will distribute
them to the students according to their orders, approximately three weeks after
the purchase date.
It is hard to believe that the
100th day of school is quickly approaching and so it is time for us to start

For this, we would like for you to help your child come dressed with a “100 day of
school project.” Some items that you may want to use are pennies, cotton balls,
q-tips, dot stickers, legos, popsicle sticks, wiggly eyes, buttons, etc. The
